1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how MOASA — Mother of All Scanning Apps — handles information when you use the iPhone or iPad app and this support site. “MOASA,” “we,” and “us” refer to the app and its developer.
2. Information processed on your device
MOASA can process photographs of documents, imported images and PDFs, recognized text, page boundaries, document names, categories, tags, dates, signatures, annotations, and editing settings. Core capture, image enhancement, optical character recognition (OCR), page organization, PDF creation, search, and standard on-device intelligence run locally.
These materials are stored inside MOASA’s protected app container unless you choose iCloud sync, sharing, or export. Explicit corrections used to improve future local suggestions are stored as bounded structured examples on the device; they do not contain full OCR transcripts or page images and are not synced or backed up.
3. Optional iCloud library sync
If you enable Sync editable library, document metadata, OCR, page organization, editable originals, and processed page data are synchronized through Apple CloudKit in your private iCloud database. Other devices signed in to the same Apple Account can download that data and rebuild PDFs locally.
iCloud processing is provided by Apple and is governed by your Apple agreements and Apple’s privacy policy. You can turn sync off in MOASA Settings. Turning sync off stops new synchronization but does not automatically erase data already stored in iCloud or downloaded to another device.
4. Optional connected intelligence
MOASA can work without connected intelligence. If you deliberately select a mode that uses OpenAI and provide your own API key, MOASA may send a bounded, redacted summary of selected headings, meaningful OCR lines, filing cues, and document context to OpenAI for grouping, naming, categorization, or tagging. MOASA does not send page images or complete OCR transcripts to OpenAI.
Your API key is stored in this device’s Keychain and sent directly to OpenAI when you use the feature. It is not stored in iCloud by MOASA and is not sent to the developer. OpenAI processes requests under its own terms and privacy policy, and API charges may apply to your account.
Sensitive Document Mode prevents MOASA’s processing layer from making external intelligence requests.
5. Optional Local Enhanced model
If you choose Local Enhanced, MOASA downloads a large on-device language model from Hugging Face. The download provider receives ordinary network information needed to deliver the file, such as your IP address and request metadata. No scan, page image, OCR text, document name, or tag is included in the model-download request. After installation, inference runs on your device.
6. Files, sharing, and automatic export
When you share a PDF, save it to Files, or choose an automatic-export folder, the destination and receiving app handle the exported copy under their own privacy practices. MOASA stores a security-scoped bookmark for a selected folder so it can place future PDFs there. The selected folder remains device-specific.
7. App Lock, PIN, and Face ID
If you enable App Lock, MOASA stores a protected representation of your six-digit PIN in the device Keychain. The PIN is not synchronized through iCloud. Face ID authentication is performed by iOS through the LocalAuthentication framework; MOASA does not receive or store your biometric data.
8. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
MOASA does not include third-party advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs. The developer does not receive your document library, usage history, or local diagnostic logs through the app. Apple may provide aggregated App Store, TestFlight, sales, and crash information under Apple’s own services and policies.
9. Support communications
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever information you include. This information is used only to respond, diagnose the reported issue, and improve MOASA. Do not send documents or screenshots containing sensitive personal information. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or legal obligations.
10. Retention and deletion
You control documents in your library. Deleting a document removes its editable files from MOASA and propagates the deletion to synced devices when iCloud sync is enabled. PDF copies previously exported to Files, another app, or a selected folder must be deleted separately.
MOASA Settings provides controls to delete the downloaded local model and private correction history. Removing the app deletes its local container, subject to iOS behavior and any data separately retained in iCloud, device backups, exported destinations, or other synced devices.
11. Children
MOASA is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
12. Security
MOASA uses iOS app sandboxing, file protection, Keychain storage, bounded network payloads, and optional App Lock controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so you should use device security, review sharing destinations, and avoid scanning material you are not authorized to possess.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when MOASA’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will identify the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, when appropriate, in the app or release notes.
