Quick fixes

Documents are not syncing

  1. Confirm both devices use the same Apple Account and have iCloud Drive enabled.
  2. In MOASA Settings, turn on Sync editable library.
  3. Tap Check iCloud & restore files on both devices.
  4. Keep MOASA open briefly while it downloads pages and rebuilds PDFs.

The camera will not open

  1. Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
  2. Allow camera access for MOASA.
  3. Close and reopen MOASA. Restart the device if another camera app is stuck.

A PDF says it needs updating

Your editable pages are safe. MOASA marks the PDF as outdated after a crop, filter, signature, page move, split, or merge. Open the document and choose Update PDF.

Automatic capture is too early

Hold the page still inside the detected outline and wait for the stability cue. For complete control, switch the capture mode to Manual.

Where are my scans and PDFs stored?

MOASA keeps editable originals, processed pages, OCR, metadata, and generated PDFs in its protected app library. If iCloud library sync is enabled, editable document data syncs through your private iCloud database. A chosen automatic-export folder receives a separate PDF copy.

Does MOASA work without OpenAI?

Yes. Capture, cleanup, OCR, PDF creation, local grouping, and local naming work without OpenAI. Local Enhanced is an optional downloadable on-device model for compatible devices. Connected intelligence is optional and requires your own API key.

Why is Local Enhanced unavailable?

The downloadable local model requires a device reporting at least 7.5 GB of physical memory and approximately 6 GB of free storage for download and installation. You can continue using MOASA’s standard on-device mode.

How do I split or merge PDFs?

Open a document and choose Organize or split pages. Select or draw around pages to make a separate document. In the Library, tap Select to choose documents and merge them.

How do I add pages to an existing document?

Open the document and choose the option to add or import pages. You can capture another page or import an image or PDF, then reorder the result.

What does the green iCloud or folder mark mean?

The iCloud mark appears after MOASA observes a successful iCloud transfer newer than the document’s latest edit. The folder mark confirms that the current PDF was copied successfully to your selected folder.

How do I delete the downloaded local model?

Open MOASA Settings → Local Enhanced → Manage local model, then choose Delete downloaded model. Your scans and PDFs are not affected.

I forgot my MOASA PIN. What can I do?

On the lock screen, choose Forgot PIN? Use device passcode. After unlocking, open Settings to change the six-digit PIN.
